Regenerative Design Practice

Balmoi Abe leads a regenerative design and heritage solution ecosystem. We bridge ancient wisdom with systemic innovation, treating every site as a living archive of soil, story and species. Our practice is built for communities, custodians and civic institutions who want to repair ecosystems while keeping heritage legible for the generations that follow.

We work in three interlocking streams. Heritage restores and reinterprets inherited places, from Kisumu's lakeside settlements to highland trade routes, so their material memory continues to teach. Research maps bioregions through field surveys, oral histories and data, turning scattered observations into shared knowledge. The Living Ledger pairs community record keepers with scientists to count biodiversity, measure restoration and reward care with verifiable outcomes.

Our methods draw on biophilic materials, circular procurement and community led monitoring. We favour earth, bamboo, laterite and reclaimed timber sourced within a tight radius of each site, and we publish material passports so the origin, carbon and repair potential of every component stays transparent. The result is architecture and infrastructure that does less harm and leaves the ground healthier than it was found.
